Interested in Volunteering with the White Flag?
Operating from November 15 – April 15th, the White Flag Shelter offers overnight shelter for those in need during the coldest months of the year. If temperatures fall below 35 degrees during the evening hours, the shelter will open. We need volunteers to cook/provide dinner, oversee check-in/check out, do laundry, help clean, and simply spend time relating with guests. Volunteer shifts include evening, overnight, and morning.
White Flag volunteer staff are like family. As a volunteer, you will spend time welcoming guests, providing food trays / lunch bags, distributing clothing and sheets. Volunteering for White Flag is an incredible experience and amazing opportunity. Volunteers are offered full experience training, so no prior volunteer experience is required. We only ask that you bring an open heart and a big smile!
On the surface, the marginalized have several material needs and wants. But when we engage relationally, we discover the humanity behind the poverty.
Start a conversation with someone who is different than you. Ask their name, where they’re from. Listen to their story. This is a launch-pad to friendship, which is often the very thing people are desperate for.
If you would like to volunteer, please complete the below form on our so that you can access the trainings / select which date you would like to volunteer. There are multiple shifts from morning to night.
